2014 TENTATIVE RACING SCHEDULE:
TBD

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run 6-days a week and maintain a decent base level of fitness. Upwards of 50-60 per week would be great. Adjust to my new work position, use time wisely, and keep negative stress at bay. Hopefully make a good run at Ogden this spring.

Balance family, work, running, and the other important things in my life.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Enjoy running and continue doing it consistently. Stay healthy and avoid injury as much as possible. Have fun!

Continue chasing PRs while I still can, particularly in the marathon and half marathon. Explore new races, improve training, build friendships, and learn from the wisdom and experience of the numerous great runners here in Utah. Run well into my old age.

Personal:

I live in Sandy, UT with my wife (Lindsay) and 2 kids. I love running the roads through my neighborhood and near Little Cottonwood Canyon. I also do a fair amount of treadmill running at the Life Centre Athletic Club. Aside from running, I love road and moutain cycling.

Back home.

A.M. - 60 minutes on the Life Centre treadmill. Similar run to Wednesday, except I didn't have to cut short this time. All flat:

5 minutes @ 9.0 mph
5 mins @ 9.5
20 mins @ 10.0
20 mins @ 10.5
10 mins @ 11.0

I'm helping out with Walter's pacing group tomorrow at the Halloween Half. Rob and I are pacing the 1:30's. Should be fun. I still have to figure out a costume to wear.

I'm struggling with a costume as well. It's going to be really cold which ruined most my ideas :). I'm going to tell really stupid Halloween jokes every mile, hope you don't mind.

Have a great time pacing! Should be a really good time.

From JPark on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 12:09:24 from 174.52.34.169

Rob - I'll laugh at your jokes, so long as you don't expect me (and my dry sense of humor) to return any :)

Scott - You're not running it are you?

From scottkeate on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 12:45:49 from 64.0.193.17

No. I'm going to run in a small 10K in Orem. I'm not sure my legs are ready to go, but I'm going to give it a go.

From RileyCook on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 12:54:38 from 132.3.57.68

Have fun tomorrow guys!

Justin, I ran Halloween Half last year and I really enjoyed it. I know you're just pacing but I think you'll like.

Scott, good luck on the 10k. I'm sure your legs will be good to go!

From Rob on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 12:58:18 from 64.134.151.203

I'm going to sprint the last 25 meters so Athlinks will show that I beat Justin Park.

From JPark on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 13:10:47 from 174.52.34.169

I reckon that's bad etiquette Rob! :) ...It ain't that cool to brag about anyways.

Scott - Good luck tomorrow

Riley - Geez!...Saw your winning time from last year. You ought to come down here and smoke it again.

From Rob on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 13:19:24 from 204.15.86.95

Are you implying I should try to beat you fair and square? Cause that ain't happening any time soon.

Riley, were you the Ninja Turtle?

From RileyCook on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 13:25:05 from 132.3.57.68

Justin, I actually turned down a comp entry to it this year. Too much racing lately, I need to get back to actual training. It's way fast though, I was not in nearly as good of shape last year as I am now and I went 20 seconds off course last year and still ran 1:07:45. So, too bad you're pacing; you could hit high 1:05 on that course right now!

Rob, I was the guy dressed up as the winner of the race! ;) Or in other words I didn't dress up...I know I'm lame.

From JPark on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 13:41:29 from 174.52.34.169

Riley - You should just come down and do a chill run then. Good way to get some miles and enjoy the course and everyone making fools of themselves in their costumes.

Rob - I was implying it wasn't that cool to say that you beat me, fair or cheating. Keep running with Scott's group though and you'll probably be beating me fair and square pretty soon.

From Rob on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 14:09:16 from 204.15.86.95

They have changed the course, so it's not "as" fast. Starts lower down the canyon and loops around at the bottom. And it goes back up the Canyon like Provo River 1/2.
