AM(1) - Little Cottonwood park-n-ride 9 mile out and back. Beautiful, overcast, clean air morning. Wet roads, but not raining. Nice and easy pace. AM(2) - Road cycling with Fritz. We met at the Olympus Hills Shopping Center and first rode up Millcreek Canyon. The colors in the canyon are incredible right now! Once out of the canyon, we rode south on Wasatch to 4500 S., then down to 2300 E., through Holladay, and up through Old Mill back to Wasatch and back north. Great ride. And yes, Fritz is an animal on the bike just like when he's running! There's a cool article in the November Runner's World by Amby Burfoot and his life of running. He gives some good perspective on things. One of things he said that I really liked was, "Life requires us to make adjustments, to change course. Some years, when the waters of your life are calm and you fell a sense of control at the helm, you'll race hard, and hope for personal bests. Other years, beset by a perfect storm of turbulence, you'll have to settle for less. That's okay. less is still something; just don't surrender and abandon ship." |
