A.M. - Wanted to test out my new LunaRacers by doing a faster treadmill run this morning. It went well for about 59 minutes and ~10 second, at which point the TM died on me:
5 minutes @ 9.5 mph, flat 5 mins @ 10.0, flat 10 mins @ 10.5, flat 25 mins @ 11.0, flat 14+ mins @ 11.5, flat - I bumped it up to 12.0 mph for the last minute and about 10 seconds the treadmill pooped-out....Dang-it, I hate it when that happens. Better right at the end than in the middle of the run though. I hope its not really broken because that's my favorite mill at the gym.
P.M. - Wanted to do an easier and shorter ride this afternoon. Ended up riding up to Wasatch and heading south this time out to the point of the mountain and back. Kept it slow and easy. It was good to see/do this route because its basically the segment of the Ultimate Challenge from the point you come off the descent from Suncrest to the mouth of Little Cottonwood. It's largely rollers and there's one good size climb on about 11700 So (I think) that I'm sure will feel pretty tough during that late stage of the ride. I'm not sure what the mileage ended up being. Probably 20-25 or so. |
