2014 TENTATIVE RACING SCHEDULE:
TBD

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run 6-days a week and maintain a decent base level of fitness. Upwards of 50-60 per week would be great. Adjust to my new work position, use time wisely, and keep negative stress at bay. Hopefully make a good run at Ogden this spring.

Balance family, work, running, and the other important things in my life.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Enjoy running and continue doing it consistently. Stay healthy and avoid injury as much as possible. Have fun!

Continue chasing PRs while I still can, particularly in the marathon and half marathon. Explore new races, improve training, build friendships, and learn from the wisdom and experience of the numerous great runners here in Utah. Run well into my old age.

Personal:

I live in Sandy, UT with my wife (Lindsay) and 2 kids. I love running the roads through my neighborhood and near Little Cottonwood Canyon. I also do a fair amount of treadmill running at the Life Centre Athletic Club. Aside from running, I love road and moutain cycling.

Justin, great to see you on Sat. You are a class act and a really fun runner/athlete to watch. Your determination Sat. was awesome. You will have a great rest of the year...

Hey, I know my opinion means squat but you should seriously consider doing the Ironman and train for Kona. Your talent is very real. What you are able to do on the run and bike is world class and I am not sure on your swim what you are able to do, but you would do really well in this competition. I hope you consider it and we can all cheer you on from the local perspective. I would love to even train with ya on this. I need to get a bike next year and start doing some rides and tri sprints to get some experience again. I am dead serious about this though. You have raw talent that is world class for Ironman. Hope this sparks some more fire in ya to consider it. Like you need anymore motivation :) See ya out there soon...Great job again Sat...

Great workout today, Justin! Especially after the 1/2 on Saturday. My legs wouldn't have made it through half of your workout today :)

@ Spencer - Hey, thank you so much for sharing the support with me out on the course Saturday. That was so cool of you to leap frog with the bottle and yell us on. I know you were there for Matt, but thanks for sharing. It was huge. Next time hope to see you the race though.... Hah! Kona, an Ironman. One of these days I might grow a pair and try a tri. You're praise is unwarranted though. I think I could do pretty well on the run and be a mid-packer (maybe) on the bike. I'd sink in the water though. Definitely would need a few months of good swimming lessons. It's definitely something I've thought about though. It would be a really cool accomplishment to do an ironman. I will continue to consider it. Just seems like such a time commitment to train for all 3 disciplines well.

@JP I actually want to train for this next year. I agree on the time issue. It's a full time job alone with running alone. I don't know how you do biking after a half. I would love to train together on things when the time comes. Hopefully you will move to draper/north Utah county and join the UTC... :)Also, I knew you were going to be at the half and the support was meant for whoever needed it. Glad to see yall rock it...
