2014 TENTATIVE RACING SCHEDULE:
TBD

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run 6-days a week and maintain a decent base level of fitness. Upwards of 50-60 per week would be great. Adjust to my new work position, use time wisely, and keep negative stress at bay. Hopefully make a good run at Ogden this spring.

Balance family, work, running, and the other important things in my life.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Enjoy running and continue doing it consistently. Stay healthy and avoid injury as much as possible. Have fun!

Continue chasing PRs while I still can, particularly in the marathon and half marathon. Explore new races, improve training, build friendships, and learn from the wisdom and experience of the numerous great runners here in Utah. Run well into my old age.

Personal:

I live in Sandy, UT with my wife (Lindsay) and 2 kids. I love running the roads through my neighborhood and near Little Cottonwood Canyon. I also do a fair amount of treadmill running at the Life Centre Athletic Club. Aside from running, I love road and moutain cycling.

Deseret News Half Marathon 2015

Fun race. Felt pretty good. Still trying to find some speed in my old legs. First 8 miles were good, the wheels kind of came off the last few. Brett and Riley just killed it. Great races by Jason and Taylor as well. Congrats to them.

Thanks, Justin! I had no idea you were there. Your name didn't show up in the results, but neither did Manuel Mena's...but I know for a fact he was just 10 seconds behind me. Would have been fun to warmup together or do a cool down or something. Are you planning on running Pocatello this year?

Hey Taylor. Congrats on the great race! You're looking to be in really good form. Yes, I'm planning on doing Pocatello again this year, but since its only 4 weeks prior to SGM (usually its 5), I'm not planning on racing it. Maybe use it as a long run/long tempo type deal. Well see. Are you running it?

From RustyTF2 on Mon, Jul 27, 2015 at 12:06:16 from 216.21.163.38

I was looking through my training schedule and saw I was planning on a 25'er that weekend... so I'm considering just running pocatello as a run as well since it's in my hometown. Not sure I wanna drop 80 bones on it though.

I'd reach out to the race director, Mike Calley (pocatellorun@gmail.com), and tell him you're an elite guy looking to do the race. He's a real cool guy and I bet he'd help you out.

Thanks, Justin! I was gonna call my friend's dad who works on the committee, so he is expecting a call. But if he can't help me I'll send an email to Mike too.
